Daniel Pena

The Texas Patriots PAC recommends Daniel Pena for Constable, Precinct 2.

The Precinct 2 Constable’s office has been led by Constable Gene DeForest for the last 20 years.  A primary Constitutional purpose of the constable’s office is to serve civil process papers for the Justice of the Peace in that precinct.  In Montgomery County, other constable agencies have moved to providing 24/7 coverage and to handling investigations in their districts but Precinct 2 has not.  As the population of Montgomery County continues to increase so quickly, the workload of the Sheriff’s department continues to grow.  Constable agencies can and should expand their capabilities to provide additional services in conjunction with the Sheriff’s Department and other law enforcement agencies.  The Texas Patriots PAC sees Daniel Pena as the best choice to transition the Precinct 2 Constable’s office into a more robust, responsive agency.

Mr. Pena is running for Constable to increase coverage to 24/7 for Precinct 2.  Currently, the Sheriff’s department takes all reports for this precinct, because the current agency is unable to investigate its own cases.  As the Constable, Mr. Pena would be able to implement his plans to increase safety and security in Precinct 2, instead of only recommending these plans to the Sheriff’s office.  Mr. Pena believes that the agency’s current budget could be repurposed to expand the capabilities of the office.  Also, he would expand training to the department to address the lack of investigative ability that is already available at no cost to law enforcement officers.

Daniel Pena is currently a deputy with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department.  He has been with that department for 16 years, where he has served as a SWAT team leader and Dignitary Team lead. Within the Texas State Guard, he served as a Warrant officer who is tasked with overseeing the operations and training of the Brigade.  Prior to his career in law enforcement, he worked as the operations manager of a pharmaceutical company.
