County Commissioner - Precinct 1 - Billy Graff
Commissioners Court - Precinct 1
The Texas Patriots PAC recommends Billy Graff for Commissioner Precinct 1.
Billy Graff has the opportunity to begin to bring some spending restraint to Commissioners Court. Running a "Harvey" restoration project non-profit, as he is now, emphasizes the need to spend frugally as he not only has to raise the funds, but also spend it wisely. Last year's Budget resulted in the establishment of an "Effective Tax Rate" for the County. This means that you would lower the Tax Rate to accommodate for "Inflation Creep" in the value of homes so the Owner will not be put into a position of being taxed out of their homes by that Inflation. With MOCO's explosive growth rate, tax receipts have exploded filling the County's Coffers beyond need. As a result, the County kept the money and increased both salaries and staffing outside of competitive need and creating the impression that the elected officials were taking better care of themselves and their employees than they were their Taxpayers.
Billy Graff can change that. He brings his experience as a Land Developer and an opponent of "Wasteful Spending" with the desire and ability to attack it. He also ticks two very useful boxes for this position, Roads and Flood control. As a land developer, roads and tying them into the local thoroughfare system were a lifeblood to success. Also, his most recent work with his non-profit with Harvey Restoration gives him first-hand experience with Flood Control to go along with Land Development.
Robert Walker, Mike Meador’s cousin, did not respond to our invitation to vet. Mike Meador is the current Precinct 1 Commissioner and has endorsed his cousin for this open seat.
